Bible Verses About Comfort

One of the most well-known references to comfort in the Bible is found in Psalm 23, where David writes, Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. This passage highlights that God’s presence brings comfort and protection, even amid arduous circumstances.
Jesus also spoke about comfort in His teachings. In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus said, Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls (Matthew 11:28-29). Here, Jesus offers comfort and rest to those weary or troubled, inviting them to find solace in Him.
Additionally, the apostle Paul writes about the idea of comfort in his letters. In 2 Corinthians, he writes, Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we receive from God (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). Paul emphasizes that God is the ultimate source of comfort and that believers can find comfort in Him, which they can then extend to others who also need comfort.
